The Sekai Nippo was published on January 1, 1975 in the midst of the cold war. Then the threat of international communism was at its highest point. The withdrawal of the U.S. from the Vietnam War was symbolic. Japan's domestic major media were largely inclined to anti-America and pro-communism. Only the Sekai Nippo continued warning the inhumanity of communism and its threat. It was only after the Berlin Wall fell and the Soviet Union collapsed, that people came to know clearly what communism is.
